My current projects

I have a few things going and even more ideas of what I WANT to get going!

As of right now I'm working on a baby blanket out of this lovely bamboo blend that's super soft and best of all, machine washable!

Second, I'm working on a smaller project to make myself a new wallet. I experimented with my own pattern and felting some gorgeous multi-hued wool. Now I just have to figure out how to add the pockets on the inside without making it bulky.

Crafting and Family

I have this love of all things crafty. I admire what others do and look with envy at how productive everyone else is. Wow, so and so refinished a $2 curio cabinet and lined it with home woven fabric after which she filled it with softies she sewed from her own patterns (of which she later published and sold to a magazine). You get the idea. I know you've all been jealous of all those productive people out there!
Or there's those moms who do a different learning craft with their children daily! All the while keeping their homes spotless and creating their own recipes for healthful living.
I am definitely NOT those women. My house is a little bit messy, my toddler likes crafts for like, the first five seconds, and my infant would rather roll across the (dirty) floor. Meh, at least he sweeps up the dog hair as he does it!
So how do I let my inner domestic diva out? Crocheting baby! Perhaps it is the perfect craft for mamas. It's compact, you can do it anywhere, it is relatively inexpensive (except when a yarn store is sooo close and beautiful exotic yarns literally call your name every time you walk in), it can be packed up and out of the way of reaching hands, and it is pretty fast paced! What you can make while crocheting is limited only by your imagination. I've been exploring with this craft and am in love.
I hope to share my love of all things crochety (is that even a word? ...no...my computer underlined it in red....)!
This is Momotron signing out!
